The younger brother to the d40 navara is the d22 and two siblings could not be more unlike one another. Having said that, for the money, i believe the navara was an ok buy.

The engine was used on nissan caravan model from 1999 to 2012. I’m aware they have egr problems which can cause then to pop and have inter cooler splitting problems, is there any other problems that can lead them to be unreliable both in road and off road.

The facelifted navara version arrived in 2003, in 2.4l petrol, 2.5l turbo diesel, 3.0l turbo diesel and 3.2l diesel. Going by other vehicles, i seem to lack a bit of power thruout the range.
